World Statistical day celebration

To celebrate World Statistics Day, 2025, the GCW Gohana organized a series of activities in collaboration with the Research and Development Cell and the Department of Mathematics. The aim was to promote data awareness, analytical thinking, and creativity among students. Summary of Activities and Outcomes Sr. No. Name of Activity Date Outcome 1 Quiz Competition 16-10-2025 The quiz covered questions on basic statistics and its applications. It created excitement among students and encouraged teamwork and learning. 2 PowerPoint Presentation Competition: “Using Data to Build a Better World” 17-10-2025 Participants gave impressive presentations supported by data. They highlighted how data can be used to solve real-world problems and promote progress. 3 Group Discussion: “Can Data Lie?” 17-10-2025 Students actively discussed how data can be used or misused. The activity helped them understand the importance of accuracy and ethics in data handling. 4 Poster Making Competition: “Sustainable Future through Data” 17-10-2025 Students made creative and meaningful posters showing how data can help build a sustainable future. Their work reflected both creativity and awareness. 5 Essay Competition: “Role of Data in Decision Making” 18-10-2025 Students shared thoughtful ideas on how data helps in making better decisions in different areas. It improved their understanding of the importance of data in daily life and research. 6 Guest Lecture 18-10-2025 A guest lecture was conducted for all postgraduate students. The expert speaker, Dr. Sandeep Kumar explained how data plays a key role in research and decision-making. The session was informative and encouraged students to use data meaningfully in their studies. 7. Prize Distribution 18-10-2025 On the final day, Dr. Meenakshi Sangwan, Principal, Government College for Women, Gohana, distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions and appreciated the efforts of all participants and organizers.
